Our Story

Welcome to Baklava Queen.

Baklava Queen Family

Baklava Queen was born from a simple belief: the best desserts aren’t made in factories—they’re made at home, with love.

Founder Noor Becker was born in Baghdad, Iraq, where family gatherings were centered around food, laughter, and generations-old recipes passed from one kitchen to the next. In 2009, Noor immigrated to the United States in search of new opportunities, bringing with her the rich culinary traditions of her homeland.

Soon after arriving in America, she met and married the love of her life, Norman, a proud Southerner with a rich culinary tradition as well. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and a shared appreciation for both Southern hospitality and Middle Eastern tradition.

Those two worlds naturally came together around the dinner table.

At Baklava Queen, every tray is handcrafted in small batches using premium ingredients, time-honored techniques, and the kind of attention to detail that simply can’t be rushed. We don’t believe in shortcuts. We believe in buttery layers of flaky pastry, rich honey, premium nuts, and recipes that have been perfected over generations.

To us, food is more than something you eat.

It’s hospitality.
It’s family.
It’s celebrating life’s biggest moments—and making ordinary days a little sweeter.

Our goal is simple: to share the finest handcrafted baklava in San Antonio, Boerne, and the surrounding Texas Hill Country with the warmth, friendliness, and love that we pride ourselves upon. If you are looking to buy the best local baklava in Boerne, Texas, or order fresh baklava in San Antonio for a holiday gathering, office celebration, or wedding, we want every bite to feel homemade.

Because that’s exactly what it is.

From our family to yours, thank you for supporting a small family business. We are honored to share a little piece of our story with every box of Baklava Queen.
